A Little About Me
As a first time mom, I knew nothing about what I was about to experience. Giving birth to my daughter all those years ago, while not traumatic (thank the good Lord), it was not at all what I had planned. 

When I got pregnant with my son, I wanted something different. I wanted to feel  more in control of what was happening, how I was feeling, what was being done to me and my unborn child. I hired a doula. I labored at home with her help and the help of my husband and daughter (she was 6 at the time). I had an unmedicated birth within 2 hours of arriving at the hospital. It was perfect (for me). 

Now it's my turn to give back. Your birth plan does not have to be like mine. Your birth story is YOUR birth story. But you need to believe you can have exactly that. I believe you can have the birthing experience you dream about and I am here to show you how to BELIEVE YOU CAN!

Tara was my rock during the second half of pregnancy, throughout labor, and postpartum. She is knowledgeable, confident and calming. I had just moved to Charleston and didn't know anyone. Tara gave me the lay of the land with all of the local doctors, hospitals and midwives as we decided how we wanted our baby girl to enter the world. In the end, we chose a homebirth and Tara was amazing throughout the process. She kept me calm during a time when it's easy to get lost in "what ifs" and a spiral of fear. Tara will forever be in my heart for how she helped me as my doula for my 3rd baby. I had difficult deliveries with my first two children and when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter I decided that I wanted to prepare myself both mentally and physically for a happy and healthy delivery. Tara was there by my side every step of the way and when I went into labor she held onto my hand and provided me with constant comfort and a knowing that we would soon be holding a precious baby girl. My husband and I will always remember how special each moment was that led up to the delivery of our daughter and we know that Tara’s love and continuous support were essential to the beautiful birthing experience that took place. She was fierce and passionate about making sure I felt confident about my birth plan and I gave me full confidence she would do everything in her power to bring it to fruition. Early in my 4th pregnancy we knew we would be having a home birth and began searching for a doula to accompany us on our journey! Our initial visit with Tara was perfect, we clicked instantly and I knew almost immediately she was the one! She was supportive in our decisions and beliefs, she was also very encouraging that I could do this! Tara visited me often throughout my pregnancy and checked in on us multiple times a week. On the day of baby’s arrival Tara came as soon as I needed her. She supported and encouraged me through the whole process. Tara went above and beyond, she had essential oils diffusing, honey sticks for energy, made sure I had enough to drink, and so much more. We walked together outside as time was getting closer and she stayed by my side the entire time. Tara held my two year old as new baby arrived so my husband could focus on me. Having a doula is so much more then just a support person. We have built a life long friendship, I am so thankful to have met someone so supportive, kind and down to earth. I recommend Tara’s services to everyone. For all things pregnancy, delivery and postpartum, Tara is your girl!
